Our family has walked through some of our most challenging trials over the last year. We’ve been able to learn a few things and continually remind ourselves of them during the many ups and downs, unexpected turns, and winding roads.

Today I want to share with you 4 action steps you can take right now no matter where you are in life, or what you may be walking through.

Each of these steps comes from a simple passage of Scripture, just two verses. I’m going to give you the verses and then break them down. They all build upon each other, one leading to the next.

Here we go:

“I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.”
Psalm 9:1-2 (ESV
)

  1. “I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart” I know this may seem difficult depending on the situation. How can we give thanks to the Lord with our whole heart when our world feels like it’s falling apart? It becomes less difficult when you consider the next line of Scripture (and our second point):

  2. ”I will recount all of your wonderful deeds” Let me encourage you to do something really simple; grab a notebook (or even your phone) and begin to write (or type) all of the times you can remember that the Lord brought you out or brought you through. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you recount all of His wonderful deeds in your life.

  3. “I will be glad and exult in you” As you begin to recall all of His wonderful deeds, hope will fill your heart as fear, anxiety, and turmoil begin to dissipate. God becomes bigger than your present dilemma, and He Himself becomes the object of your passion: “…I will be glad and exult in you

  4. “I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.” Now you’re on your way to praising His name! Praise comes from a position of victory! It sounds like this;

    ”God I thank You for what You have done, I thank You for what You can do, and I thank You for what You are doing right now! Even when I cannot see it or feel it, I recall every moment of Your Divine intervention in my life! You alone are worthy to be praised and I trust in You!”

I’m pulling for you!
