Peanut Butter Jelly Time!

I am so excited (and just a tad bit nervous) to share with you what is happening this weekend before The Furnace kicks off at 7:00pm on Saturday night in Downtown Shreveport.

Something easy. Something simple. Something powerful.

This crazy idea has the ability to bust open the floodgates of Revival through the lives of yielded men and women in this region, unleashing terror on the enemy and ushering in salvation, freedom, and healing.

However, I do need to warn you. There is a very real and imminent danger in that this very thing could threaten the safety of the soft and cushiony Ivory Towers of our modern day SMTSRTP.
(Social Media Theologically Self Righteous Thought Police)

And I am not even kidding.

That's right folks. As multiplied dozens of people out of hundreds of millions desperately scour the Internet in high hopes of finding some silly and nonsensical statement from a ridiculous preacher that nobody even listens to, so they can then be prepared to make a totally humongous post garnering 17 total likes, we are going to be engaging in something just a little bit different this Saturday.

What is this explosive and exciting idea? Let me stop teasing you and at least give you some clues;

Peanut Butter.
Jelly.

Oh...and water. Because, you know...peanut butter.

Like wise master swordsmen we will unsheath our plastic knives and plastic spoons as we assemble the most amazing and delicious peanut butter and jelly bread sandwiches known to mankind (we are going to be using Jiff peanut butter...so you know I am telling you the truth).

OK! ENOUGH RANDY!

Though I actually believe and agree with everything I just wrote, let me try to be a little more serious.

Throughout my years of being a Christian, one of my pet peeves is people who do nothing at all to reach out to and minister to others in real life, yet sit down pridefully in the seat of the scornful as they talk about every flaw, weakness, and practice they don't like in other ministries and churches.

I was recording an episode for my podcast, Randy In Real Life, several months ago and said something spontaneous. I can't remember exactly what it was, but it went something like this;

"For those who like to sit and criticize other ministries and preachers, yet never do one thing to spread the gospel or help others, I have an idea that would be much more effective. Put down your smartphone or laptop, go to the store and buy some peanut butter and jelly. Get some bread. Make a sandwich. Go find a homeless or hungry person. Give them the sandwich. Share the gospel. Offer to pray for them."

Quite a few people contacted me after that episode and LOVED the idea! I can't tell you how many people have asked me when we could go make some peanut butter sandwiches to give away to needy people.

Well...guess what? It's peanut butter jelly time!

This Saturday afternoon we are going to be feeding the poor, praying for the sick, and just sharing the love of Jesus. And this is before The Furnace even kicks off!

It is my personal opinion (from experience) that nothing so ignites the heart and brings personal revival like when ministering to others...especially the poor and the broken.

How you can help:

  • Pray for us this weekend; for protection, open doors of ministry, and for people to experience salvation, freedom, and healing as they encounter the love of God.

  • Join us! If you are anywhere close we would love for you to come and be a part! We have people driving in from several states and also locally, and believe that God is going to do as much in us as He will be doing through us.

  • Partner financially. We will not only be giving away sandwiches and water, but also other gifts as well. Your partnership helps us to reach more and go further. To give, simply click on the button below (we are a non-profit organization).

Thank you for all that you do! I can’t wait to share testimonies!
